A Bit About KidSign
KidSign videos were created in the early 1990s to teach basic Signed English to children for a Public Access Television station. The series consists of 8 lessons taught by a puppet that is a bear. The signs are presented and then combined in short phrases and sentences for more practice.
Each video also has a downloadable form with more practice lessons.
NOTE:
KidSign presents lessons using Signed Exact English. Signing Exact English is used to communicate in English through signs and fingerspelling. Signed Exact English, in most cases, uses English grammar. This is different than signing in American Sign Language (ASL) is a language of its own and has its own structure.
